once again the kid is in front of the liquor store asking for change...by kid i mean he is in his early twenties...seems strong enough to work, smokes cigarettes.....and i no longer give anything to him....for at this point i understand it is not a case of someone down on their luck, so low, that they need to beg....it would seem in this case a career choice...and doing simple math, with Canadian dollar and two dollar coins being the currency, and between maybe 1000-2000 people passing through the doors every day, if only 50% of the people responded with a Loonie....he's making 500 a day....double than what i make...hmmm...maybe it is time for a career choice.
There is another man, who brings his children with him, to the exit door of the local church. He stands with a sign asking for help, with his children by his side and makes it awkward, and conscience searching for the Christians who lower there gazes from him where they just learned to give to all who ask and to clothe the poor, feed the hungry, give shelter to the homeless..... 

so

it is the scars we remember most...and sadly..the current generation of children are not allowed to get any.....sheesh, it will be weird when they run the world.

  I watch the news this morning and there are more Americans debating with bad passion about the American right to own automatic weapons with cartridges that hold multiple rounds.....and this from a June Cleaver type woman.....what need is there for this type of weaponry in Mrs. Cleaver's world?

it be Valentine's Day.....you like it or you hate or it leaves you bored....i'd like it better if i got chocolates with a nougat center..whatever a nougat is

      We are a bit smug here in Canada about the Americans proclivity to carry weapons..a sort of "glad we ain't them" mentality...and yet, here near Toronto, there is almost a news story each day of gunfire...better to look at the sliver in your brother's eye....folks...let's just stop killing each other...let's try it for a year...see how it works how....if we don't like it, we can always go......

so

nothing arouses as much vitriol as the suggestion that americans maybe don't quite need as many guns as they have.....and i get that there be hunting to do and protecting the house to do...but automatic assault weaponry? hmmm...and those grenades..they be for bass fishing? please listen to that wee voice of reason that whishpers gently in yer ear...

It is 12 degrees Celcius here in Canada on January 12th which brings a sense of  spring joy as the warm winds melt the snow....to be dashed by the backyard swamp of puppy poop that has accumulated since before Christmas....yuk...life....dance in the poop...it does clean off.....
